Scottish Open a great success at Gullane

Last week’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Gullane – one of our Links Golf Cup venues – meant that Scotland’s Golf Coast was again back in the golfing spotlight. It was great seeing the images of Gullane and surrounding areas on the TV and, with these pictures beamed around the world, this undoubtedly has a positive impact towards bringing golfers to the East Lothian region.

The course, and in particular the greens, received rave reviews from the Tour Pros – not least from the Americans who came over as part of their preparation for this week’s Open Championship at St Andrews. It was one of those Americans, Rickie Fowler, who managed to produce some tremendous golf on the back nine to pip his compatriot Matt Kuchar to victory and ensure that he goes into this week full of confidence.

All in all the week was a huge success – record crowds flocked to watch the action on Day One – and we cannot wait to return to Gullane next March for our 4th Links Golf Cup tournament. If you want to join us, head to www.linksgolfcup.co.uk and enter!
